Chapel Update – we are studying Jesus’ Miracles

Dear Parents,

We are  rolling through Jesus’ Miracles this semester in Chapel. The goal of this teaching is to introduce your child to the POWER of our God! Miracles are things that only God can do, but we have access to His power through the Holy Spirit; the same power that rose Jesus from the dead!   Already, we have studied:

  • Jesus’ 1st miracle, turning water into wine at a wedding in Cana (John 2:1-11)
  • Jesus calmed the storm (Matthew 8:28-34)
  • Jesus healed ten lepers (Luke 17:11-19)
  • Jesus opened the eyes of a man born blind (Mark 8:22-26)
  • Jesus walked on water (Matthew 14:28-31)

We are learning that “with man, these things are impossible, but with God, all things are possible,” Matthew 19:26.  We are singing some new songs, too, that you have hopefully heard from your child by now:

  • Jesus Loves Me Everyday
  • He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands
  • My God is so Great

We will continue with more awesome miracles until we reach Easter and learn of the greatest miracle of all – the Resurrection! We will study:

  • Jesus heals a man lowered through the roof (Luke 5:17-39)
  • The great haul of fishes (Luke 5:1-11)
  • Jesus fed at least 5,000 men (Matthew 14:15-21)
  • Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11:1-16)
  • Jesus rose from the dead (Luke 24:5-6)

Please join me in sharing the wonder of these miracles with your child. Or, maybe Jesus has shown you a miracle or performed a miracle in your life. If so, make sure to share it with your child so he/she can know the awesomeness of our God! In the meantime, I will be praying that we all can open our eyes to the miracles occurring around us every day!

Love,

Sue
